45year –old Ramji Satnami is residing with his wife, two daughters and two sons in Duajhor village of Duajhor Panchayat of Raj-Khariar block, Nuapada District. Being land less and having no employment opportunityin his own locality, had made his family struggle for one-time meals. So, he decided to migrate to work in Brick KlinSector. Since then, he has been migrating to ANDRA Pradesh.Unfortunately, he has met with an accident in 2014 while he was travelling to destination to work in Brick Klin and lost two legs. The brick kiln owner has senthim  back to home and provided no proper treatment. Losing his two legs has been his additional tension and worry for him, as how he will satisfy the need of the family. Though the government provided disability pension and PMAY but it could hardly bring any change in his daily  livelihood. The situation and condition has been informed to, the YCDA staff. They approached him and encouraged him to do something which would make him earn for living. YCDA with support up Tata Trust made individual business plan and proposed him to start small grocery Shop as his housewas  locatednear the market place. On the other hand, he can buy items from nearest market of Khariar. After planning business details, YCDA helped small credit to the Mr. Ramji Satnami in November, 2017. With small credit, he opened Grocery shop and earns 200 to 300 rupees per days and with that earning he can manage their family and study of children. He is very happy and grateful to YCDA and Tata Trust for making him able to earn for his family after losing his two legs.
