Tata Trusts Migration Initiative 2016-19 sets the goal to improve the quality of life of Migrant labourers by working at both source states and destination states. IEC is one of the integral strategies of the Trusts for wider impact in the areas of awareness and counselling. Tata Trusts communication strategy is designed around the needs of individual, community and cycle of migration to facilitate behavioral change to catalyze long-term impact . Taking the step forward an awareness campaign on labour sensitization “Dadan Sachetanata “was initiated on 6th December, 2017 .The one week awareness drive was flagged by Labour office that will reach-out to each and every village of 10 focused Gram Panchayats under Labour department & Trusts collaboration to mitigate distress migration initially. The IEC is designed with short movie “Udharana” in local language , audio and video messages , banners and posters highlighting the importance of BOCW registration , government aids and benefits for migrants and their children. Special highlight was given to Odisha Labour Help Line Number -18003456703 which is a toll free number and can be dialled PAN India. Dadan Sachetanata is rolled out by Trusts Partner Organization “PARDA “ based out of Nuapada District. The mini-van that has started the IEC will cover two to three-Gram Panchayats per day and is expected to reach out to all the block under the district.
