Research Conference on System of Rice Installation: Research Issues, Priorities and Prospects
The SRI programme supported by SDTT and coordinated by Livolink Foundation mostly enables poor and marginal farmers to adopt the innovative SRI methodology in hilly, mountainous and rain-fed conditions across the country. From the 1st year itself (2008), the programme covered 8 states through 82 partner organisations, reaching out to 37,000 farmers. Since then, SRI has gradually expanded its reach to more farmers and has received support of the State Governments and financial institutions like NABARD. Within a short period of less than three years, the SDTT programme made a remarkable achievement by reaching out to 2,00,000 SRI farmers during 2012-13 covering 89,893.30 acres benefitting farmers in Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Manipur and Odisha. After successful completion of phase-I (2008-10) and phase-II (2010-13), the Trusts have started its 3rd phase (2013-18). A Secretariat liaises with the partners, collates data, operates an MIS to monitor the programme and coordinates on specific research. The SRI Secretariat is hosted by Livolink Foundation, Bhubaneswar.
